I. Ceramics and Glass Competition

A division for those who work with clay, porcelain, chamotte, majolica, as well as glass — transparent, coloured, stained, blown. Here, mastery of the material, a sense of form, texture, and decoration are valued.

Nominations:

  1. Authorial Ceramics — unique pieces made of clay, porcelain, or chamotte, where form, texture, and firing give birth to a unique artistic image.
  2. Ceramic Panel — a relief or flat decorative image, where ceramics becomes a wall story or ornament.
  3. Ceramic Sculpture — three-dimensional plastic art made of clay and fired to stone hardness, from miniature to large form.
  4. Art Glass — transparency and colour, the play of light and reflections in blown, pressed, or stained glass forms.
  5. Stained Glass — an image made of coloured glass, gathering light and turning a window opening into a pictorial canvas.
  6. Glass Sculpture and Art Object — a three-dimensional work made of glass, where the material takes shape, becoming an independent artistic statement.
  7. Decorative Vessel — a vase, jug, bowl, or other object in which utility is combined with artistic value.

II. Artistic Crafts Competition (Wood, Metal, Stone, Leather, Bone)

The art of creating objects from wood — from carved panels to decorative utensils; forging, casting, chasing, and jewellery art in working with metal; as well as tapestry, batik, embroidery, and art textiles. In all directions, mastery, a sense of material, and an authorial signature are important.

Nominations:

  1. Jewellery and Accessories — authorial pieces created by hand from metal, wood, leather, stone, fabric, and other materials: from jewellery forms to decorative details of an image, where functionality is combined with artistic expressiveness.
  2. Artistic Carving — patterns, subjects, and volumes born of the chisel, from flat carving to three-dimensional sculpture.
Decorative Panel — a wall composition made of various elements, creating an image, texture, and mood.
  3. Artistic Forging — the plasticity of hot metal, where the blow of a hammer turns iron into an elegant pattern, an arched span, or a decorative element.
  4. Casting and Chasing on Metal — the creation of forms through casting or surface treatment of metal, giving birth to reliefs, sculptures, and decorative details.
  5. Decorative Items — authorial pieces created by hand: carved miniatures, panels, sculptures, accessories, interior and decorative items, where natural material acquires a refined form, texture, and artistic image.
  6. Mixed Technique — the combination of various materials and methods: wood, metal, fabric, leather, creating a holistic work with a unique texture.

III. Authorial Doll and Art Object Competition

A division for creators of unique characters and objects, where sculptural, textile, and decorative techniques are combined. The authorial doll becomes an independent work with character and history, and the art object — an unexpected statement in material.

Nominations:

  1. Authorial Doll — a character born of the artist's imagination, where every detail — from face to costume — is created by hand and carries character.
  2. Sculptural Doll — a doll close to sculpture, where the plasticity of body and face becomes the main expressive means.
  3. Textile Doll — a soft character made of fabric, stuffed materials, where the texture of the material creates the image and atmosphere.
  4. Doll Composition — a scene of several dolls united by a common subject, mood, and space.
  5. Art Object — an object created by the artist as an independent statement, where material and form are subordinated to the authorial idea.
  6. Installation — a spatial composition of several objects, creating an environment and immersing the viewer in the authorial world.

IV. Folk Crafts Competition

Khokhloma, Gzhel, Zhostovo painting, birch bark, wicker weaving, lace-making, and other local traditions. Here, cultural memory is preserved, and folk art is reinterpreted in a contemporary context.

Nominations:

  1. Painted Arts — traditional artistic painting on wood, ceramics, metal: Khokhloma, Gzhel, Zhostovo, Gorodets, Palekh, Mstyora, and other types of painting. Each painting has its own pattern, palette, and soul.
  2. Miniature — the finest painting on lacquer boxes, where subjects from folk tales and epics come to life in miniature format (the nomination includes Palekh, Mstyora, Kholuy, Fedoskino, and other types of painting).
  3. Birch Bark and Wicker Weaving — products from natural materials: birch bark and willow vine, where weaving becomes art.
  4. Lace-Making — airy patterns from threads, where bobbins create the finest lace, resembling a frosty pattern.
  5. Traditional Toy — a clay, wooden, or rag figurine, preserving an archaic image and the joy of folk creativity.
  6. Folk Costume — clothing that preserves the memory of a region, era, and traditions, where embroidery and cut tell a story.
  7. Contemporary Reinterpretation of Traditions — an authorial reading of folk techniques and images, where the past meets the present day in a new artistic language.

It is important to participate, interesting to watch, and useful to listen. That is how one can describe the atmosphere of the "Russian Art Week" — a place where creativity, education, and communication merge into a single stream of inspiration.

The "Russian Art Week" is not just a competition. It is a map of the contemporary Russian art world, marking all the main directions: from the familiar painting and graphics to bold digital experiments and monumental forms. In addition to the exhibition and competition programs, the "Russian Art Week" offers participants and guests an extensive educational and business program: master classes and lectures, conferences, business meetings, presentation sessions for authors, and a unique format — the "Art Ring", where leading experts engage in live dialogue about trends and the future of art.
