​Prepare Photos of Your Works

​High-quality images are the calling card of your work. For correspondence participation, the jury will evaluate your creativity based on them, so pay special attention to photography. Files larger than 10 MB should be sent to [email address].

​Choose a Competition and Fill Out the Form

​A separate application is filled out for each work. Carefully indicate the nomination, dimensions, technique, and year of creation — this data will go into the catalog and exhibition labels.

​Wait for Confirmation and Pay

​Payment is made only after the Organizing Committee officially confirms the participation of your work in the project. Immediately after receiving confirmation, pay the fee and send a copy of the receipt to [email address].

​Ways of Participation

  • ​IN-PERSON FORM — the author personally brings the originals to the exhibition; works are returned on the closing day.

  • IN-ABSENTIA / CORRESPONDENCE FORM — the author sends photos; the organizing committee prints them (format A3–A0) and places them in the exposition. Diplomas are sent by mail.

  • DISTANCE FORM — the author sends the originals by mail to "GOGOL ART"; the organizing committee designs and places them. Return — at the author's expense in both directions.

​Who Participates

  • ​“PROFESSIONALS” — authors for whom art is a profession: members of all-Russian creative unions or practicing artists without membership.

  • “AMATEURS” — authors without special art education, creating works as a hobby, for self-realization.

  • “STUDENTS” — students of specialized art educational institutions and graduates who completed their studies no later than 2 years before the exhibition date.

​How the Russian Art Week is Conducted

​The Russian Art Week is held in the form of an exhibition-competition with mandatory evaluation of the submitted works by members of the international jury. The registered works are exhibited at the Moscow venue — at GOGOL ART (Moscow Center for Contemporary Arts) at the address: Gogolevsky Boulevard, 14 bldg. 3. The art objects presented at the exhibition simultaneously participate in the competition. The competitive works are evaluated by the Expert Council (jury), consisting of specialists from the Russian Federation and foreign countries (Europe, Asia, America). Additionally, numerous master classes, lectures, and creative meetings are organized for participants.

​PRELIMINARY SELECTION

​The author independently decides in which competition and nomination their work will be presented. The Organizing Committee conducts a preliminary review of works based on the submitted photo images. All works registered within the specified deadlines and confirmed by the organizing committee are exhibited at the exhibition and participate in the competition program, 
with the exception of: 
1) works that violate public norms accepted in the Russian Federation; 2) works on political topics; works that offend religious feelings and personality. The decision of the Organizing Committee regarding the above exceptions is final and not subject to discussion.

​EXPERT COUNCIL (JURY)

​An Expert Council (jury) is formed to evaluate the competitive works. The Expert Council includes the following professional groups: 1) leading members of art unions and associations; 2) representatives of specialized mass media; 3) art historians; 4) representatives of mass media that publish information about the art world; 5) patrons of the arts. The Expert Council includes evaluation both in the exposition (in-person jury) and in electronic form (correspondence jury). The work of the Expert Council (jury) includes evaluating the art objects submitted to the competition on a 10-point system. The scores are summed up and the arithmetic mean is determined.
